Monday & Tuesday 12 & 13 November at 19h.  “Betrayal” at Théâtre de Nesle 8, rue de Nesle 75006  MAP An original play in English about the last years of VanGogh written by & performed by Bill Griffin. Presented in collaboration with the Dear Conjunction Theatre Company. “The last three years of Van Gogh’s life were very productive but they were also very turbulent,” says Griffin. As Griffin performs the play he is busy painting a canvas.

22 novembre au 2 décembre.  “La nuit des Rois” (Twelfth Night) de Shakespeare au Théâtre Nanterre Amandiers.  22 novembre au 2 décembre.   Durée du spectacle 2h30 entracte compris.  Spectacle en anglais surtitré.   Mise en scène : Edward Hall.  Compagnie de Théâtre Propeller.  Synopsis : Suite au naufrage d’un navire Sébastien le frère et Viola la sœur échouent à deux endroits différents de la côte de l’ile Illyrie, ou règne la Duc Orsino, amoureux de la Comtesse Olivia qui repousse ces avances.  Privée de la protection de son frère jumeau, Olivia se travestie en homme et se présente à la cour d’Orsino. Le Duc la reçoit comme page et lui demande de plaider sa cause auprès d’Olivia. Secrètement amoureuse d’Orsino, Viola n’est pas emballée par cette tâche. Après une série de quiproquos, Viola révèle son identité.

Samedi 17 novembre à Nanterre (92) : salle Jacques Decour, rue des rosiers. Stage de danses de 14h à 17h, suivi d’un buffet et d’un bal folk et Ceili en soirée avec les Froggy Stew.  Come along and enjoy an evening of Irish dancing and music.

1st November – Clowns without Borders Ireland goes to Rwanda.  Facebook    Clowns Without Borders Ireland is a voluntary aid organisation which performs and offers workshops for communities in Ireland and around the world that are under stress or in crisis due to disease, war or poverty.   On the 1st November Clowns Without Borders Ireland will pack their trunks to bring laughter to children in refugee camps in Rwanda. Following an invitation from UNHCR, and partly funded by Culture Ireland, our intrepid team will visit several refugee camps, mostly in the north of the country.  The three clowns are bringing a burst of colour, craic and hullabaloo to the refugee camps in Rwanda with live music accompaniment and percussion from Brian Fleming. No child without a smile!!

The Bouquiniste 39, quai de la Tournelle 75005 Paris  MAP  –  Strolling along the left bank, with Notre Dame to your left, browse the bookstalls of the legendary “bouquinistes.”  Each bouquinist has its address according to the “quai” where it is located.  If you stroll down a bit, you’ll come to 39 Quai de la Tourelle, a bouquiniste with a wide selection of meticulously wrapped books with lesser and well-know titles on Travel, Literature, History, and exceptional original engravings, some rare old finds and a bouqiniste passionate about literature, authors, Paris and travel.

Looking for more books, stroll along and head to the église St. Sévérin and just behind this street, you will discover the rue de la Parcheminerie, where the English Language Bookstore The Abbey Bookshop is located.  A booklover’s haven.  Books on every subject, enjoy a cup of tea, browse, and seek those titles you’ve never expected you’d find.  Also, a great collection in the cellar.
